Evan Hirsch: Memories, Drapery & Milestones Spring Summer 2025

Evan Hirsch, the maestro of convertible fashion, presented his Spring/Summer 2025 collection to a packed house on a rooftop just off Times Square during NYFW. The big story this season, however, is the designer’s fabric selections and where they came from. Faced with his parents selling of his childhood home in Dix Hills, Long Island, Evan was lamenting the loss of a special place that gave so many wonderful memories. He turned to these memories in a place where he once experienced solace and comfort and used them as motivation to create.

Evan’s solution was to not let the home’s furnishings and fabrics of his early life go so easily. He gathered them all together and used them as the foundation of his S/S 2025 collection. Patterns that once graced his sister’s bedroom windows now became a strapless mini-dress with a bow at the waist. His mother’s kitchen drapes became a two piece day ensemble. Why not use pillows from his Grandmother to create a ball gown? In Evan’s world of creativity, nothing is off limits.

“When my parents put my childhood home up for sale in June of this year, I was heartbroken. Going through all of my accumulated possessions and mementos was a difficult task,” says Evan Hirsch. “But even worse was watching all of the details that made my home unique were ripped from walls, shelves, and cabinets. It was then that I decided to pay tribute to home the best way I knew how, through my designs.”

During the NYFW presentation, Evan partnered with MiaDonna, The Eco Diamond Company, to show a 21.06 carat Emerald cut diamond on several of his ensembles. The diamond was nearly 19mm x 13mm x 9mm in size and left the audience in awe.

While several of his looks employed his trademark convertibility, this season, he grew the collection to incorporate classic offerings as well as his looks that trick the eye and cause onlookers to question what they just saw.

It was such a pleasure meeting Evan. We had the opportunity to chat and discuss what his collection means to him. It was so easy to connect with him even during the hustle and bustle of the NYFW presentation. As you can imagine, everyone wanted to speak with him. He has a huge heart and a very kind & loving personality. I felt so comfortable and accepting in his space. Evan’s Papa passed away last July due to a benign brain tumor. He was a renowned Park Avenue dentist and was extremely supportive of Evan’s fashion career. Evan is proud to dedicate his SS25 collection to his loving Papa by partnering with the Brain Tumor Foundation.

I wanted to give guests the opportunity to give back in hopes that one day, no other has to lose a loved one to this disease. – Evan Hirsch
