10 Best Places to Eat in Dallas

Traveling is good for the soul. And, so is a great meal! Especially when you travel. They say everything is bigger in Texas and they sure are right if they’re talking about the delicious restaurants.

Dallas consists of a great ton of delicious restaurants and trendy neighborhoods. Plan on loosening your belt when you visit, or just don’t wear one at all. You won’t need it if you plan on eating out. The food is good and hearty and the city has a wide range of options when it comes to food and farm-to-table Texas dishes.

10 Best Glamorous Places To Eat In Dallas

1. Commons Club

Matt McCallister and Richard Branson live lifestyles that we could easily get used to. Especially when the cooking is as good as it is at Commons Club. It’s my favorite Dallas destination because it’s a fashionable restaurant with extremely friendly staff. Located inside the brand spanking new Virgin Hotels Dallas, Commons Club offers tastes that match the decor. Eloquent and special are two words that come to mind. I was there for their soft opening and all of my senses were tickled at hello.

Guests can grab a seat at the counter overlooking the exhibition kitchen for a chef-on-point show or they can sit in a seductive nook for privacy and exclusivity. French techniques influence the seasonally inspired menu. The dishes are made from food that comes from local farms, and the wood fire grill and rotisserie are the main tools for the meaty protein selections. Everything McCallister creates gives an explosion of flavors you wouldn’t expect.

2. The Yellow Chilli

The Yellow Chili is a chain that brings polished dining to town when all the other Indian chains are in strip malls and shopping areas. The menu offers spiced creations such as meen moilee (fish cooked in ground coconut-based curry with chilies and ginger) and lamb shank cooked in chili and yogurt.

3. Desert Racer

Desert Racer has a delicious share of motorized vehicles about its space which makes for great decor and even better conversation starters. Ducati motorcycles and a white convertible Volkswagen Beetle are present and the massive patio is home to a groovy old school van that you can actually sit inside. Comfort food is the main attraction though. Options on the menu include brisket-and-queso-laden tater tots, a large selection of tasty burgers, and a wide range of meaty tacos, enchiladas, and Mexican dishes.

4. 400 Gradi

Another one of my favs is 400 Gradi, an Australian import that’s killing it in Dallas with its first U.S. location. Yummy pizzas are the main attraction as well as fresh pasta dishes that will make your mouth water by just looking at them. After dinner, make sure to save room for dessert! The famous hazelnut mousse is a must-try as well as the Nutella pizza topped with housemade gelato. The gelato is so good, they built am inspired dessert shop right next door called Zero Gradi.

5. Bullion

Many have said, Bullion is the best new fine-dining restaurant in Dallas. Chef Bruno Davaillon left his job at a big name hotel and started his own restaurant and its as opulent as ever. The interior is filled with artwork from artists like Kathryn Andrews and Jeff Elrod who are both based in Texas. The Midcentury Modern design has an old-school sophistication kind of feel. The menu focuses on French classics you just have to try.

6. Lucia

Lucia has been open for 8 years and it’s still one of the best restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The tiny, 36-seat restaurant is located within the Bishop Arts District and serves some of the best Italian dishes you have ever tried. The menu uses ingredients that can only be found in Texas and it changes often so if you get used to one great dish, it may not be back next month so enjoy it while you can. Menu items that don’t change are the cheese boards, risotto, long-haired pasta, pork, and vegetarian selections.

7. Rise No.1

The food at Rise No. 1 is good but I personally love the atmosphere! A meal usually starts with a warm baguette and its romantic vibe will make you want to stay all evening. Locals that frequent the restaurant love the famous marshmallow soup which is a tomato soup with large pieces of goat cheese inside.

8. The French Room

The French Room’s 2016 remodel has furniture pieces that resemble Louis XVI-style chairs along with Italian Murano Glass chandeliers. The exquisite menu features caviar snacks, foie gras terrine, sublime soufflés, and truffles galore! an entire section dedicated to truffles.

9. Rapscallion

Rapscallion is known for its brunch menu and the to-die-for chicken and dumplings is a dish you must order. Their large, customized dry-aging fridge sits right behind the bar where guests can see various cuts of Prime American Beef, pork, and whatever other great cuts the Chef is interested in.

10. Fearing’s

Dan Fearing’s creations get people talking for days on end. Maybe it’s because he literally wrote The Texas Food Bible. But really the hearty Texan food is just that good! It’s also fun to see the famous chef play the electric guitar right there in the restaurant!
