Today, visitors come from all over the world to take in the red sandstone formations and gorgeous hiking trails. Named after Sedona Schnebly, the wife of the city’s first postmaster known for her kind heart and over-the-top hospitality, Sedona sure is a fun place to visit. The beautiful destination offers galleries, one-of-a-kind boutiques, five-star spas, and outdoor recreation opportunities.

1.The Airport Loop Trail

The Airport Loop Trail is a 3.2-mile trail that winds around the city’s airport. You can hike, run or mountain bike on this trail and enjoy beautiful flowers, lizard and red frog sightings, and beautiful red rock views. Dogs are welcome so grab your furry friend and enjoy 360-degree views of Sedona. The loop promises gorgeous views of the area’s major natural landmarks including Oak Creek Valley, Cathedral Rock, and Airport Mesa.

2.Crescent Moon Ranch

The Crescent Moon Ranch is a rustic historic ranch house that simply stands in a field surrounded by beautiful views including Cathedral Rock and Oak Creek flowing past Red Rock Crossing. The ranch can be rented for those who are looking for a quiet getaway. It sleeps ten people and includes three bedrooms and a great room with breathtaking views. While enjoying the yard and screened in patio, guests can also hear Oak Creek while taking in the spectacular views of Cathedral Rock. When you visit, be sure to bring your hiking shoes and your camera!

3.Chapel of the Holy Cross

Built by a Frank Lloyd Wright student named Marguerite Brunswig Staude in 1956, Chapel of the Holy Cross is nestled in between gorgeous red rock mountains and offers true harmony of nature. Guests can enjoy prayer, meditation, panoramic views, and a gift shop while visiting.

Shopping in Sedona is intriguing to those who love to take in their travel destination to its fullest. Natural rock, stones and minerals aren’t seen too often in the midwest and if they are, they cost a bit more than they should. In Sedona, minerals and gorgeous rocks are all over the place and visitors can purchase their favorites at several local shops for affordable prices. Local stores also offer antiques, collectibles, gems, home decor, apparel, shoes, accessories, Native American & ethnic gifts.

5. Grasshopper Point Picnic Area

Grasshopper Point is a swimming and picnic area perfect for the entire family. Located in the base of Oak Creek Canyon, guests usually visit to enjoy not only the peaceful views but also the large cliffside swimming hole called Grasshopper Point. The area offers hiking, fishing, wildlife watching, photography opportunities, and waterplay.
