Turmeric Powder for the Skin

Turmeric Powder for the Skin. Five Helpful Tips.

If you’re looking for a natural way to treat skin issues, Turmeric powder is a natural spice that can help. It’s one ingredient (that is probably already in your spice cabinet) with so many beauty benefits!

Here are some ways you can use turmeric powder to not only cure skin issues but also create healthy, radiant skin.

Turmeric Powder for the Skin. Five Helpful Tips.

1. Cures Acne

Turmeric powder has anti-inflammatory properties as well as anti-bacterial properties. It can kill acne-causing bacteria and also remove unwanted oils. Try mixing ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder with 2 teaspoons of sandalwood. Add a dash of milk to make a healthy paste. Apply to the face and let it sit until it dries. Apply a wet, warm washcloth and gently remove the dry paste. Do this once a week for best results.

2. Great for Exfoliation

Turmeric powder is a natural exfoliator and can be used to remove dead skin cells. Mix 1 tablespoon of oatmeal with 1 tablespoon of sugar, then mix ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder and add rose water to form a healthy paste. Apply to face gently with fingers and massage all around. Gently rinse with warm water and pat dry. Repeat once a week for smooth, healthy skin.

3. Reduces Scars

Turmeric is also known to reduce scarring with its antiseptic qualities. Add a dash of turmeric with 1 teaspoon of gram flour. Only apply it to affected areas. Let the paste sit until it dries and let it do its magic for about 25 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Do this daily.

4. Lighten Stretch Marks

Woohoo! Let’s get rid of those stretch marks. Mix turmeric powder, saffron, and lime juice together until it becomes a healthy paste. Apply the paste on your stretch marks and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and then pat dry. Do this daily until you see results.

5. Treats Dry Skin

Cracked heels are yucky. And, if the cracking is constant and/or deep, they can become painful too. Mix coconut oil (my favorite thing in the pantry) with turmeric powder. Be sure the coconut oil is hard, not in actual oil form. Apply the paste on your cracked heels and let sit for 15 minutes. Wash off after 15 minutes with a gentle soap (if you don’t your heels could turn orange). Use plain coconut oil in between treatments for softer skin.
