Athletes Adopting Families for the Holidays Event

It’s time for the second annual Athletes Adopting Families for the Holidays event.  The event will take place at The Reserve in Birmingham on December 9, 2010.  Terry Foster will host the event, the voice of the #1 sports show in Detroit on 97.1, The Ticket.

This is the biggest Holiday fundraiser event ever for the Adopt-A-Family program where local supporters are making a difference for those in need. The Adopt-A-Family for Christmas program is run by the Volunteers of America and is known for matching families in need with individual and corporate sponsors who “adopt” them for the Holidays.  The families will receive donations of new clothes and toys for each child and food for everyone in the family.

The AAF event is open to everyone who would like to enjoy a celebrity fashion show by Golden Hanger Designs,  meet and greet some of the best professional athletes in the city and enjoy great eats and good tunes throughout the entire evening. Local female celebrities will grace the runway. Detroit athletes scheduled to appear include Detroit Lions 4-Time All-Pro Wide Receiver Herman Moore, Superbowl Champion Lomas Brown, current standouts Kevin Smith and Derrick Williams and other active Detroit Lions players.  Detroit Red Wings Justin Abdelkader and Darren Helm will also attend with Detroit Piston bad boy Rick Mayhorn and current Piston Charlie Villanueva.

VIP tickets include an autograph signing with select athletes.  VIP and general admission tickets can be purchased at the event site at www.athletesadoptingfamilies.com.
